Biography

Full professor and head of the Coatings and Industrial Anticorrosion laboratory, Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Trento. Teacher of the courses “Protection of Materials and Structures”, “Product Design” and “Strategic design”. He deals with the protection of materials in particular with the use of coatings (organic, metallic and ceramic) and their monitoring using electrochemical techniques and accelerated laboratory tests. In addition to the corrosion and abrasion behaviour of surfaces, he is interested in the aesthetic-perceptive properties (colour, gloss). In this field he deals with the aspects of innovation, lateral thinking, creativity and the application of traditional and innovative materials to the world of design and architecture. He has held several seminars and talks at conferences in this field. He authored over 224 articles in scientific journals (Scopus database) with over 4600 citations. Participation in over 140 national and international conferences, many are invited.
