ALBERDINGK® AC 2443 – a new hydrophobic polymer for anticorrosion primers

ALBERDINGK BOLEY has set the standard for DTM metal coatings with its products ALBERDINGK® AC 2403, AC 2420 and the biobased REN AC 8403. Since multiphase acrylic dispersions are naturally limited in their maximum PVC levels, it was apparent that a new approach was required to bring high performance into metal primers. The new developed ALBERDINGK® AC 2443 brings C3/C4 protection level even in high PVC primer application. Thanks to a novel polymer stabilisation, it is possible to formulate “traditionally” with active pigments but also using heavy metal free formulations for even more environment friendly metal protection. The paper will show comparative testing and performance data of various formulations.
